I know we just posted a blog yesterday but we really are on a roll just now…
This week has been busy getting work ready for “Honest And Down To Earth” in Derby. As you know this has been a long project which began way back in September 2010 but – drum roll – is almost completed!
Our fabricator MCE has been busy in Derby doing all the steelworks for the Central Reservation artwork – all the galvanised pieces and the stainless steel panels have been completed. The Leaning Post has been cast at Ballantine’s in Bo’ness and is en route to Harrison’s in Lancashire for painting as I type this. The oak timber beams (with a walnut DUFI inlay … oooh, fancy!) have been completed by Dunc at Uphall Timber in West Lothian and are ready for delivery.
We fly down on Monday afternoon and will be onsite first thing Tuesday to oversee the installation of the Central Reservation artworks and then go down the following week for the installation of the Leaning Post.
Its going to be busy … and exciting! – FIN
